wobbly on my own.

busyness and distractions abound around me. why did i think that it would be easier to find balance here without the distractions at home? don't get me wrong, i miss being with my family every night. i miss seeing them, hugging them, talking with them, and doing life with them. but there were also a lot of distractions and responsibilities pulling me in different directions.

here at college, there are different distractions and responsibilities vying for my attention, time, and energy. i've said "no" to many opportunities and activities. there still doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day for everything. i constantly feel one step behind. balance eludes me. as soon as i think i've got it down, it slips away, leaving me confused and frustrated. right back where i started.

that's part of my problem-i think i've got it down. i get cocky and step away from the only One who can keep everything together perfectly. i think i know how to balance ok on my own. when it was all God in the first place: showing me how to give every bit to Him, guiding my steps, arranging my day perfectly and for His glory if i will simply listen and follow Him.

on my own, i'm wobbly. no, i fall over. Lord, help me surrender to you again. Help me to lay it all at Your feet again. every day, every morning, every moment. i'm Yours, please take me this night. Thank you for settling me in Your peace. Thank you for not giving up on me.
