Thank you for the gift of Your Son. You alone knew how to wrap up perfect love. You wrapped Him in flesh, in humility as a newborn dependent on its mother to grow up to be the sacrifice for sin, once and for all. He was sent with more love than any gift we could ever give, but few recognized Your gift and were willing to unwrap it. If only we received You as quickly as we ripped open our gifts to each other. Your gift that will never change changes everything. You will always be with us, always forgiving, always loving, even though we are slow to see and come to You. Please help us to recognize Your presence in every area of our lives- in every darkened corner, in every tear that falls, in every ordinary moment, in every joy and sorrow. Emmanuel, God with us forever. This Christmas, I pray that each of us would feel the warmth of Your glorious presence in an extra special way.
