my trip to Boston, part 1.

this is the view outside my window at my friend's house in Ipswich, MA. my room was on the third floor in the "attic." i had the huge room all to myself. what a treat.

we moved a table and a sewing machine up in the attic so i could spread out my quilt project and leave it out. another treat.

i didn't get many quilt blocks finished while I was there but i relished the fact that i didn't have to put everything away every time i had to stop sewing.

can i just say that i love the view out that window?

some day-to-day highlights of my trip days 1-4:

} Wednesday- i flew into Boston, had my first ever apple cider doughnut (delicious!), and corn on the cob for dinner from Mirini's (a small farm stand that sells the best fresh-from-the-field corn ever!)

}Thursday-
(it's kind of self-explanatory, and yes, i thoroughly enjoyed napping whenever i fell asleep :)

}Friday-i honestly can't remember what i did. oh, we did eat corn from Mirini's again :) i just remembered what i did! my friends dana, abi, and i went to rockport. we ate lunch at a small restaurant on the channel. i had a lobster roll, which is big chunks of lobster meat on oblong roll with mayo to dip. my first ever taste of lobster and it was delicious. (i wasn't adventurous enough to try whole lobster :) we wandered and explored lots of little shops filled with cute, funny, and unique things. abi and i raced each other down a rocky jetty and took pictures, then raced back. it was a tie. all the running and laughing made us hungry again. we ate yummy cupcakes-abi and i split an oreo cupcake and an andes mint cupcake. mmmm.

}Saturday-Crane Beach

(there was a sand castle contest and it was neat to watch from start to finish)
