in just a few days i will be leaving home and my family to go to Western Carolina University. i'm transferring there to finish a bachelor's degree in communication sciences and disorders. there are so many changes and new experiences awaiting me. i know God has and is preparing me for what He has planned in this new chapter of my life. change often feels like taking a giant leap off of a tall building, not knowing what is down below or exactly how i'm going to land or if i will land at all. there are so many bits that are uncertain. i don't have the whole picture. i don't have it all figured out.
what is so freeing is that i'm not supposed to have it all figured out. God gives me what He in His sovereignty knows i need to accomplish His will for right now. not yesterday or tomorrow-right now, today. my past and my future belong to Him. He wants me to give Him my past and trust Him with my future.
God has shown me many times this past year or so that He will walk me through whatever valley or rough place i travel through. He has made it especially clear this summer that He is holding my hand and walking right along with me. many times i believe He's been holding and carrying all of me when all i could do was cry, crumpled in a heap.
i am never, ever alone.
p.s. i promise that i will tell you all about my trip to Ipswich soon. i finally uploaded all my pictures in between readjusting to being back home and packing for college. there are so many happy memories that i can't wait to share with you. the clock has been telling me for a while it is past time for bed, but my mind is finally quiet enough now i think i can actually sleep. good night, world.
when i read this, i think of songs. (funny how music speaks sometimes.) "i'm letting go" by francesca battistelli, and "never alone" by jadon lavik (couldn't find that one on youtube). change feels like falling to me, too. i'm glad we can fall on Him. :)
ReplyDeletep.s. i get the quiet-blog times. they're ok. we're here whenever the words come. thanks for sharing when they do. (hugs)
